High Level

High Level (oil on canvas, 36 x 36 ins.)

My, but I found this taxing. An awful lot of close colours made it difficult to get the buildings in recession. Anyway, this will be the last one I'm doing for the Red Box show. I'm simply out of time to do more, although there were a couple I had intended to finish. On Saturday, Pat and I are flying to Croatia for a couple of weeks, so tomorrow will be taken up with last minute arrangements.

Like it lots I like the geometric shapes you have got in it...the bridge and rooftops and the distance....excellent!

Just looking at it I can tell how challenging it is, and what a grand job. I used to LOVE getting the bus across the tyne and looking at all the roof tops so you painting really warmed my heart.

I love it! All those complex shapes and the wonderful way that the colors meld together. A fine work, Harry!

I love how the elements in this painting lock together so beautifully...and the color orchestration--superb. It must have been incredibly taxing, as you say, but you make it look effortless.
