The Side, with Snow (Oil on canvas, 36 x 36 ins) I recently heard from The Artist magazine that they'd like to feature this painting as their Editor's Choice in the April edition. Of course I agreed, so more when the time comes.
" The Editor " may hide behind his/her title but He/She or IT has good taste. I've always liked that painting;it has a quality of stillness after snow and peace after the noise of traffic that is strangely soothing and that is all too likely to be very short lived.
Now lets see if that " Please prove you're not a robot" thing works. For, who among us can prove that He/She or It is not a robot?
Welcome to my blog. I'm a professional artist working in oil, acrylic and drawing. I'm still very much a figurative painter aiming at some kind of modern representation. I believe in the continuing value of painting and follow in its long and honourable tradition.

excellent!
Thanks Vivien!
Beautiful work!
That's a striking image, which immediately made me think of Escher's Still Life and Street:

Great stuff Harry. It's always been one I liked. I love your rooftops and chimney pots.

Nice to open my magazine and recognise your painting Harry. Well done!
Thank you all for your appreciative comments. The April edition of The Artist is now on the newsstands.
This is a stunning painting. I can see why they chose it!
It's certainly proving to be very popular. Thanks, Dan.
