I actually did two paintings for the Secret Card Sale at The Old Lock Up Gallery. This is the other which doesn’t appear to have sold, but as the Sale is officially over, I guess I’m OK to post it now. Should you fancy adding it to your art collection , I dare say the gallery would be happy to take your £15 even now. All money goes to the gallery. I’d just be happy to see the picture go to a good home.

Here’s a little painting I did recently for the Secret Card Sale at The Old Lockup Gallery but couldn’t post before. Now it’s sold, I guess it’s OK to post - a snip at £15.

I do have a wooden heart …

There's nothing like a deadline for getting the creative juices flowing. And I have a deadline. This wooden heart is to be decorated in any way I fancy and returned to St Clare's Hospice, Jarrow by the 1st September in time for a charity event.

The Hospice will be holding an exhibition of these decorated hearts (one of them has been decorated by "Call me Dave" Cameron - be still my beating heart!) in November. There'll be a catalogue and a website and I'll be sure to post details of those in due course.

Meanwhile, I'm afraid I'll be unable to share progress of my heart's painting with you. The work will all be displayed anonymously, although a list of contributors will be available. Later, after the exhibition has closed and the work has been sold, I'll let you see what I came up with.

Fish on a Bicycle?

While Patsy123 and her friend M are trundling Eastwards, M's husband has been doing something which makes most people go "Eh?" He's cycling round the North Sea.

He's undertaking a 6,000km Sponsored Cycle Ride round the North Sea in aid of Charity. Leaving Newcastle he's following a circular route along the coasts of England, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Shetland Isles, Orkney Islands and Scotland (but clearly not in that order).

The website for his adventure is interesting and the photographs uploaded from his mobile phone are well worth a look. The pictures of the Stones of Stenness and the ruins of Skara Brae are particularly good.

And you never know, you might want to give him some money.
