The Other Sketchbook Circle Book

Blogger seems to be playing silly buggers with my posts recently - it's saving my posts as Drafts instead of Posting them. Which is why my previous post has only now appeared.

So this is another quick post to bring the Sketchbook Circle activity up to date.  This book is my Partner Becca's and contains quite a few pencil sketches done on holiday in Cuba. I won't post them all, because I didn't feel able to work over them, but these two led me to make pages of my own.

These pages followed and show a few small additions of mine.

And finally, these are my new pages in her book.

Cathedral Work

Cathedral (work in progress)

Back to the Club on Friday to spend a short time working on the Cathedral painting. The foreground is coming along, but the more distant view will take some time to get right, I think.

[And as an aside, can I just say how irritating I find the new Blogger posting system  It wasn't broke; it didn't need fixing.]

Oak Citadel

Oak Citadel (Oil on canvas, 24 x 24 ins)

I tried to post this yesterday, but I found I couldn't connect to Blogger all day. A little searching on Twitter showed that I wasn't alone in this, but that it wasn't universal. Odd.

I made an effort to get to the Art Club on Friday ... and found myself alone. Maybe it's due to the half-term holidays and all the regulars have been roped into grandfatherly duties. I suppose I could have gone home again, and the thought did cross my mind once or twice, but I felt that I needed the discipline of getting back into to some work. If I'd gone home, I might not have started on anything at all.

I have no mouth and they must scream....

Both Ian Gordon and Patsy123 tell me that they've had trouble accessing my Comments. Some people are evidently getting through OK, because I've got comments, but I see from the Forum slot on Haloscan that other bloggers are having similar problems.

I'll see what can be done, although as a technological incompetent, I've no idea what. Meanwhile, just keep trying, guys!

The Great Procrastinator

Looking at my ragbag of links to the left there, I'm beginning to see a pattern emerging: it's starting to look as untidy as the Zip living room at Stately Zip Mansion. Perhaps it's time to take advantage of one of Blogger's new templates. But which one.....? And what will happen to my laboriously arranged HTML edits?

I've lived much of my life like this. I still haven't put up the mirror in the bathroom in case it falls off and breaks some of the tiles which would be impossible to replace.

I guess it comes from a deep sense of insecurity.

Every now and again, however, I find myself saying, "Fuck it. Just do it! Bugger the consequences. What situation could arise from your actions that would be so dire as to be unrecoverable?"

Which is how I came to know Patsy123. And how I ended up blogging.

So look out, a new Boogie Street will rise from the ashes of the old!

Probably. Real Soon Now. And I've had the bathroom mirror for ten years now. Bit longer won't make much difference...
