Snow

Window View - Snow (Charcoal and pastel, 19.5 x 16.5 ins)

I didn't go to the Club today and this is why. When I got up there was a white-out. It gradually thawed as the day went on, but I suspect the Club studio would have been deserted. And pretty damn cold. This drawing will have to do for today.

I favor this!

We have had two snows, but I haven't done a drawing. Good stuff!

Thanks, Casey, it made a pleasant change to be drawing in my living room.

I love seeing what can be done with just a few colours.
Lovely piece.

Leon - thanks. I hope you'll call again.

Spot - yes, I like using my set of limited colours better than the full palette set.

Snow is one of those subjects which I enjoy seeing depicted throughout the history of art, because of the variety in the way it's been done.

This sketch surprised me a little. I would have guessed you would have gone more Monet with the palette.

So once again, an enjoyable post.

I can see why you might think that, Ian, but as I've said above, I went for the box of limited colours. Purely a spur of the moment thing.

Good work, Harry. I could see where that kind of drowned light one sometimes gets in the winter would well suit a limited, close-colored palette.
