Cakes at the Club
Glasgow Cakes (work in progress)
I went back to the Club yesterday and made a start on this one. Like the fallen tree painting, it's (perhaps obviously) a combination of two images: cakes I saw in a shop window in Glasgow and a view of the city itself from the top of the Lighthouse. Increasingly, I'm looking for ways of bringing elements together like this.

Nice! I look forward to this one being finished. Reminds me of W Thiebaud, if I may say.
You certainly may say, Casey! It wasn't deliberate in any way, but as I worked on it I began to see the similarities. I suppose looking at someone's work as much as I've looked at Wayne Thiebaud's is bound to have an effect.
This is great, wonderful piece of work....
Thank you Ewen, although I'm hesitant to bask in any praise until the work is finished ;0)
It's probably the only thing you can bask in at this time of year...
It's been unusually mild of late, but you're right, not basking weather.
I like this Harry. Unmistackably an Harry Bell. Best Regards
Thanks, Trevor. I'm itching to get back to work on it, but this week wil probably prove too busy for me to go to the Club.
Harry - stunning painting. Really.
Thank you, Sheila, and good to see you here again. The danger in a stunning painting is that it may stun me into ruining it. I'm treading carefully.
