Rooms & Mannequins

Rooms & Mannequins (oil on canvas, 40 x 40 cms)

Another in the Shops & Stalls series brought to completion. I think they look good lined up together and now I have only to finish the slight reworking of Rugs & Icons, the painting that started me on this theme.

Lovely! I like these stalls - it's like peeping into another world somehow. Perhaps you should do one lined with the football shirts of all the different nations playing in the World Cup! With a few vuvuzelas to boot :)

These get me thinking of art fair booths. The way you've varied them, and yet the same perspective. Great!

Caroline -- Thanks for your comment. All of my paintings have been based on real shops but your idea is an interesting one.

Casey -- It's that same flattening perspective that interests me so much at the moment. The 20th C modernist problem of representing a 3D object on a flat plane.
